Phyisician (ACOS Primary Care)

The ACOS/PC will report directly to the Deputy Chief of Staff. The ACOS/PC provides administrative, clinical and programmatic leadership for the department to ensure achievement of the clinical goals and applicable performance measures 24/7. The ACOS/PC is accountable for the assessment of the health care delivery system, as well as developing a plan for the delivery of health services to patients, consistent with the policies and guidelines of the Veterans' Health Administration. Duties include but not limited to:
Provide leadership and management for the Primary Care department; Assists staff in identifying and solving patient care problems relating to primary care services on a day-to-day basis; Facilitate communication throughout all areas of Primary Care and will be the conduit of information to his/her colleagues and subordinates; Promotes effective coordination and support of clinical care by evaluating current and potential patient needs, clinical workload and resources, and special programs/mandates; Work closely with facility leadership to ensure strategic goals and all VA initiatives under Primary Care are met; Ensures the quality and timeliness of the services provided, customer satisfaction, as well as compliance with standards of accrediting bodies such as The Joint Commission and the Inspector General's Combined Assessment Program. Lead the Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACT) approach in the delivery of care, which emphasizes team-based approach to healthcare; Ability to challenge systems and processes to improve access to care and the care delivery process coupled with the ability to think and act creatively and innovatively; Responsible for the budget and contract activities necessary to run a successful department; Responsible for participation and oversight of clinical staff patient care performance measures, compliance, training, and performance improvement, recruitment and retention of highly qualified and experienced providers, participation in various Medical Center committees to ensure performance measures are met, compliance with applicable rules and regulations, as well as participation in system redesign activities. Collaborate and communicate with other medical professionals inside an outside the department on Veteran care and provide high-quality patient care. The ACOS/PC will serve as a liaison between the medical schools training programs; The incumbent will also serve as a staff physician. The expected time spent in direct patient care will be negotiated with the direct supervisor. Work Schedule:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Pre-placement physical examination will be completed prior to appointment to determine the physical and mental fitness of candidates. The examination will be concerned with the mental and physical ability of the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the proposed assignment and will include requisite laboratory and other screening as required by Federal regulatory agencies. Physician applicants must have the mental and physical ability to perform core privileges required by the specialty position in addition to any specialty privileges requested. Physical demands of this position involve primarily walking, talking, use of telephone/computers, etc. Strenuous physical activity is not required although the incumbent is expected to withstand pressure and stress as part of their day-to-day activity.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
