Physician (Associate Chief of Staff for Radiology)

The ACOS/Radiology provides administrative, clinical and programmatic leadership for the department and will be responsible for inspiring, motivating, and guiding the Radiology staff in achieving the strategic goals and plans of the department. The ACOS/Radiology will be accountable for the assessment of the health care delivery system, as well as developing a plan for the delivery of health services to patients, consistent with the policies and guidelines of the Veterans' Health Administration. Duties include but not limited to:
Provide leadership and management for the Radiology department; Assists staff in identifying and solving patient care problems relating to Radiology services on a day-to-day basis; Facilitate communication throughout all areas of Radiology and will be the conduit of information to his/her colleagues and subordinates; Promotes effective coordination and support of clinical care by evaluating current and potential patient needs, clinical workload and resources, and special programs/mandates; Ensures the quality and timeliness of the services provided, customer satisfaction, as well as compliance with standards of accrediting bodies such as The Joint Commission and the Inspector General's Combined Assessment Program. Work closely with facility leadership to ensure strategic goals and all VA initiatives under Radiology are met; Oversees the budget and fiscal management, human resource management, strategic planning, and program development, assuring that the clinical and administrative functions are integrated in order to provide optimum utilization of the available resources; Responsible for participation and oversight of clinical staff performance measures, compliance, training, and performance improvement, recruitment and retention of highly qualified and experienced providers, participation in various Medical Center committees to ensure performance measures are met, compliance with applicable rules and regulations, as well as participation in system redesign activities. Collaborate and communicate with other medical professionals inside an outside the department on high-quality patient care; The ACOS/Radiology will serve as a liaison between the medical schools training programs; The incumbent will also serve as a staff physician. The expected time spent in direct patient care will be negotiated with the direct supervisor; Other duties/responsibilities as assigned. Work Schedule:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical requirements outlined below. Preferred - Board Certified Reference:

A pre-placement physical examination will be completed prior to appointment to determine the physical and mental fitness of candidates. The examination will be concerned with the mental and physical ability of the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the proposed assignment and will include requisite laboratory and other screening as required by Federal regulatory agencies. Physician applicants must have the mental and physical ability to perform core privileges required by the specialty position in addition to any specialty privileges requested. Physical demands of this position involve primarily walking, talking, use of telephone/computers, etc. Strenuous physical activity is not required although the incumbent is expected to withstand pressure and stress as part of their day-to-day activity.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
