Agnes Scott College is eagerly seeking individuals to fill the Head Athletic Trainer position to start in July 2014. A successful candidate will be responsible for the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of intercollegiate sports injuries and the intramural program as needed. This person will report to the Assistant Athletic Director/Director of Sports Medicine or other designated person and work with physicians, medical professionals, student athletes, and athletic directors at other schools, to ensure proper athletic conditioning and training, and proper emergency care.
Essential job functions include the following:
1. Provides implementation, administration, and promotion of care of intercollegiate sports and the intramural program.
2. Provides in service training to coaches, assistant coaches, instructors and other support staff.
3. Administers first aid and emergency care at games, transports athletes to doctors, maintains a confidential correspondence with the physician and his/her supporting staff, completes required insurance forms, and grants physician referrals.
4. Coordinates and assists in administering athletes physical exams, develops and implements conditioning programs, evaluates and plans rehabilitation programs, and coordinates strength and endurance training.
5. Determines medical staffing coverage for practice and contests, ensures medical staffing coverage of events, and travels with and provides medical services for Agnes Scott College varsity teams.
6. Administers education and counseling on athletic injuries, nutritional and weight maintenance, strength programs, and drug education and testing, and establishes continuing education programs.
7. Maintains supplies and handles inventory and budgets.
8. Stays current on legal liability issues, NATA, GSAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
Requirements
Education: Bachelors required, Masters preferred in related occupational field of study.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year work experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of sports, athletic training, physical education, coaching methods, and NATA/NCAA rules and regulations.
Familiarity with Agnes Scott College policies and procedures.
Proficiency in budgeting, facilities planning, volunteer staff management, and scheduling.
Mastery of managing a diverse group of activities staff members.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with Microsoft: Word, Excel, electronic mail, and sports medicine specific database management.
Excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality.
Ability and desire to meet the irregular hours and travel schedule required by the position.
Other:
Irregular hours, outside work, and travel from office to other locations are required on a regular basis.
Certification required as an athletic trainer (AT) and in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
